This notice explains how gearpress.co.uk stores or reads information on your
device. Cookies are small text files. Similar browser storage can serve the
same purpose.
Essential store technology
Gearpress uses essential cookies and session storage to provide functions
you request. These include:
- keeping products in your basket;
- moving between basket and checkout;
- maintaining account and sign-in security;
- remembering checkout progress and selected delivery options;
- protecting the site against fraud and misuse; and
- remembering your analytics preference.
These are required for the shop to work and do not need consent under the
rules that apply to essential storage and access.
Payment services
Payment services shown at checkout may store or read information when their
buttons, messages or payment screens load. They use this for payment
processing, security, fraud prevention, session continuity and, where shown,
eligibility for payment options. Their own privacy and cookie information is
available through the payment service.
Optional visitor analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics”, DevMuse Stats measures visits, page views,
clicks and scrolling on public pages to help us improve Gearpress. It uses
browser localStorage for random visitor and visit identifiers, an expiry
time, and limited campaign and referring-site information. Visitors and
visits are estimates, not identified people.
The analytics records stay on Gearpress’s server. DevMuse Stats does not
record form values, page text, full IP addresses or session recordings, and
does not send analytics to an external analytics service. Account, basket,
checkout and password-protected pages are excluded. Browser Do Not Track
and Global Privacy Control signals keep optional analytics off.
Analytics identifiers expire after 90 days. Event records are scheduled for
deletion after 90 days; collection may stop sooner if a safety budget is
reached. We do not use DevMuse Stats for advertising.
Your browser controls
You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking
essential cookies may stop the basket, account or checkout from working.
Browser help pages explain the controls for the browser and device you use.
Your analytics preference
“Allow analytics” and “Essential only” save your choice for six months in
__Host-gp_analytics_choice, a first-party preference cookie.
This cookie contains only your allow or deny choice, not a visitor ID.
An older gp_cookie_notice dismissal cookie does not grant analytics.
Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing
consent stops future collection and removes DevMuse Stats’s browser storage.
It does not remove events already collected, which follow the retention
period above. If your browser cannot save a changed choice, the notice
will explain this so you can remove the old cookie in your browser settings.
